CHEMICALS
Form Retarder Aggre-Tard

A high abrasion, heat resistant one coat form retarder for producing exposed aggregate concrete.

USE

Aggre-Tard is a one coat chemical form retarder that produces beautiful exposed aggregate concrete consistently. Aggre-Tard is excellent for architectural precast, tilt up or cast in place concrete.

ADVANTAGES

♦ Single coat application.
♦ Application rate of 350 square feet per gallon.
♦ No undercoat transfer agent necessary.
♦ Tough film allows for excellent abrasion resistance.
♦ Heat resistant up to 160¡f. degrees.
♦ Can be used on wood, steel, fiberglass or concrete surfaces.
♦ V.O.C. compliant.
♦ Εxcellent for both horizontal and vertical castings.

DESCRIPTION As the concrete cures, the retarder temporarily stops the set of concrete at the surface. The next day the retarded concrete surface is washed or brushed away. Because the penetration of the retarder is controlled at the surface only, the rest of the concrete may cure normally.

PREPARATION All forms must be clean and dry. Porous forms such as concrete or wood must be coated with CONAC Form Coat Epoxy 2000.

MIXING Mix material with slow speed drill or pour material from pail to pail to insure that all settled material will be properly dispersed.

APPLICATION Apply Aggre-Tard by spray, brush or short nap roller. Material should be applied evenly at a rate of 350-400 square feet per gallon approximately 4 mils on a wet film thickness gauge). One coat is all that is necessary.

Material should dry within 15 minutes and concrete mix may be placed at this time. Protect film from water if concrete placement is delayed.

When the concrete is lifted or mold removed, the retarded concrete is easily water washed or lightly sand blasted away. Make sure that this is done soon after stripping as any delay in washing away matrix could result in a lighter less uniform etch.

PRECAUTIONS Protect dried film from moisture. If film is exposed to moisture (rain or excessive condensation)

Do not use Maximum concrete temperature is 160¡f. If concrete is to be in form for more than two days, please consult a CONAC technical representative. Sample pieces and full mock-ups prior to job start up are essential to gain proper experience and skill with Aggre-Tard.

SHELF LIFE 12 months in original container.
